Try to live in peace with everyone, and seek to live a clean and holy life, for those who are not holy will not see the Lord.
Hebrews 12:14 (NLT)

Living at peace with everyone is not easy. Some people are difficult.

I know some people who don't allow peace around them. For whatever reason they seek to draw in conflict and disharmony around themselves. This can be destructive and damaging to those relationships.

But, our call is to live a holy life. This life is one that will always seek a path that leads us to walk with Jesus.

Navigating this path can cause confusion for those who seek to live at peace with everyone. The way forward can be unclear and sometimes we can feel that everyone step is a stumble not a bold move forward.

I think that this is the way of holiness. It's seeking, stumbling, uncertainty. But then it's knowing, running the race, absolute assurance. It's a paradox of ensuring that the goal remains clear while living in the present difficulty and uncertainty.

None of these things are easy because this desire to see the Lord is strong and clear in the midst of this paradox. There is no special formula to achieve holiness. Community and the action of loving daily, seeking to love God, desiring a deeper understanding of Jesus are part of the story.

Today I pray that God will allow me to seek peace with everyone. I pray that it will start with my closest community - my wife - my family - my church, and then begin again tomorrow with those that God calls me to love. This means whoever I am called to meet that day.
