A Couple of Important Things:

Just a couple of important things for those among RYHC who attend our Church’s services on Sundays, and one also regarding the Focus series (which we have just recently completed) devotionals and memory verses:

1. Due to low attendance rates at the Church’s Evening service (5:0PM Sundays), the Church is currently making some changes to it and have decided to suspend it a bit until July 1. It will come back as a once a month thing from then on until we can get more people to come along to the service. So, if you’re interested, feel free to join in with the Evening service from July 1. You’re also welcome to join us at the 9:30AM service at each Sunday also. Both our services are at Geham State School (directions here – opens in new window).

2. Regarding the devos and memory verses from our recently completed Focus series, we have been unable to put them up on this website, as the images from these are taken from our Facebook group and dumped into entries on this site. However due to some weird technical glitch-thingy that we have had uploading images to the Facebook group, we have been unable to repost them here (which is kind-of a bummer if you do not use Facebook). Hopefully this will be all sorted by now and devos and memory verses from any future studies will be posted here.

Also, remember that youth is NOT on this Friday (18/5) as we are having our Serving Soldiers on the next day. See the post below this one for more info.

Serving Soldiers…

Serving Soldiers

Our first Serving Soldiers for term 2 is on this Saturday (19/5) from 10:00AM to 12:00PM at 51 Peters Rd, Meringandan. We will be helping a single mother clean up her house as she is planning to sell it (we were going to do this for last term’s Serving Soldiers but the not-so-good weather postponed it up till now). So come along and bring your mates too as we serve God by helping to make a difference in our community!

Term 2 Approaching…

There is less that a week to go till term 2 starts, with our ‘famous’ Crazy Cooking night being first up. Prizes are awarded to those who can cook up the most awesomely delicious or horribly disgusting meal. Crazy Cooking starts at 7:00PM on Friday 27 April in the Shannon Park Hall.

Also, make sure to git yer program for this term as well. Just go over to the Forms and Program Flyers page to download it.

Backwards Dinner…

…Is this Friday! On Friday 23/3, we’ll all be meeting up together at the Shannon Park Hall at 7:00PM. Then it’s off to three of our Church members’ homes for dinner… backwards! That’s right, instead of having dinner in the usual order of entrees, mains then dessert, we’re doing it the other way round. We’re going to be eating dinner at our first home, then moving to the second for our mains and finally having dessert at the third home. Come along, both you and your friends, as RYHC celebrates the end of term 1.

Prayer Night Comin’ Up This Friday

Tomorrow night (16/3)  for youth is the second Serving Soldiers for this term. On that night, we’ll be spending some time together in prayer. What for? Anything really – your school, church, community, nation, world – the list goes on. It’ll be an awesome night as we as Christians seek God together as a youth group and wait and see what He does.

The prayer night runs from 7-9:00PM on March 16 at the Shannon Park Hall.

Serving Soldiers this Saturday!

Our first Serving Soldiers for this year will be on this Saturday (23/2) from 10:00AM to 12:00PM at 51 Peters Rd, Meringandan. We will be helping a single mum to clean out her yard as she is attempting to sell the house.

Afterwards, we will be heading to McDonald’s Highfields for a feed,. Pickup will be 12:45PM from McDonalds.

Bring a hat and some sunscreen also.

This Week’s J-Zone Memory Verse and Devos

Howdy y’all,

Just in case you don’t know yet (or forgot!), in our J-Zone groups for this term as part of the ‘Focus‘ studies we’re doing, there is a memory verse (or verses) and two devos that are worth checking out. These will be posted here every week as well as on the Revolve Youth – Highfields Facebook group.

This week’s memory verse is from Colossians 1:9-10 (if you can remember it, you get a prize on Friday night!):

Col 1:9 And so, from the day we heard, we have not ceased to pray for you, asking that you may be filled with the knowledge of his will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding,
Col 1:10 so as to walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing to him, bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God.
(ESV)

And here is the devotion (click the image below for full-size):

Youth Returns this Friday!

Term 1, 2012 is almost here, and youth is starting back up again from Feb. 3 (after a bit more than eight weeks of hiatus… we know you miss us a lot).

Our first night for ’12 is our Gross Olympics night, featuring crazy, fun and messy games such as Egg Toss, Spray Down and more.

Bring yourself, your friends and some old clothes. At the Shannon Park Hall from 7:00-9:00PM as always.

Programs are also out now, head on over to the Forms & Program Flyers page to grab ‘em.

‘Word of Faith’ movement video out now…

Hope everyone’s having a mad Christmas holiday (and looks forward to youth next year!)

While you’re waiting, however, check out the latest video to roll off the line. This was our February 25, 2011 J-Zone, with the topic being the Word of Faith/Prosperity gospel movement. If you have at least forty-five minutes to spare, it is worth checking out.

Until then, see ya’ll next year.

XBox/LAN Night this Friday!

Guys, the moment you’ve all been waiting for is THIS FRIDAY (2/12), 7:00PM at the Shannon Park hall. Bring along your TV set, XBox/360, controllers, games (particularly any of the Halo, Call of Duty or Battlefield series), LAN cables, power boards and extension leads.

Also, expanding on what we did last year, if you have a PC/laptop (one that is YOURS, not the family PC) you can bring along that as well. You don’t need to have a high-powered PC either, as most of the games we’re doing are older ones that don’t have high system requirements. If you have a LAN hub/switch, bring that as well so that we can have more machines hooked up.

XBox/LAN Night runs from 7:00PM December 2 to 8:30AM December 3. Breakfast will be provided along with various snacks and drinks during the night.

Girls are also welcome to come along, but only from 7:00 – 9:00PM. After 9:00PM, it is a BLOKES ONLY zone.

Bring along your friends as well!
